Frequently Asked Questions

Q1) Do pull-out kitchen taps need high water pressure to work properly?

Not necessarily. A pull-out tap will work at typical household pressures, but how “strong” the spray feels depends on your home’s flow/pressure and the tap’s design (aerator/spray head). If you’re on low pressure, look for a model designed for low-pressure systems and avoid anything that’s clearly specified for high-pressure only. Even on standard pressure, the main advantage is still the control—you can pull the spray head out and direct water exactly where you need it, rather than relying on a fixed spout.

Q2) What’s the difference between the normal stream and the spray function—and when should I use each?

Most pull-out spray heads offer at least two patterns: a regular stream for everyday rinsing and filling, and a wider spray for quicker cleaning and washing down the sink. The stream is ideal when you want less splashing (filling kettles, pans, jugs), while the spray is handy for rinsing plates, washing veg, or blasting suds and debris towards the drain. Because the head is extendable, you can combine the spray pattern with better reach for corners and awkward items.

Q3) How do I stop the hose from becoming stiff, snagging, or not retracting smoothly?

A pull-out tap works by routing water through a hose that extends into the sink and returns beneath the tap, so smooth retraction depends on having enough space and a clear path under the sink. Keep the cupboard area tidy (avoid the hose rubbing against stored items or pipework), and if the spray head starts returning slowly, check that nothing is pinching the hose. It’s also worth cleaning limescale from the spray head/aerator from time to time, especially in hard-water areas, so the tap keeps performing as intended.
